Kamakazi moves
Last night at the Full Gas Promotions Dirt Crits, Ash and Jack rolled up to the start line for another blat around Westgate park. With 9 other starters in A grade, and a total of 46 riders, the race was afoot and there for the winning. During the first lap, the race was controlled by the two Felt riders who quickly put in a small psychological gap into the field, making it a race of 4. Unfortunatly at the start of the second lap, Ash moved to the less used line to have a look at the other riders, and was unlucky enough to have a flat. A large sharp piece of metal or tanbark stood up and punctured the tyre immediatly, therefore effectivly removing Ash from the race.
The race progressed on with Jack, Matty L and Tex duking it out, before Jack made the decisive move on the start of the 4th lap up the only 'hill' on the course, opening up the RXC Team to put a 30m gap into the others straight away. This was a gap that he effectivly held to the finish line, winning the race and moving himself into 7th place in the series, a great effort considering he had 2 races that were basically non-pointscoring. Ash repaired his flat and got back into the race, but re-entering the race behind B and C grades, meant an awful amount of passing to be done, and after the 1st expedition into the prickle bushes, he decided that perhaps discrection was the better part of valour, and rolled in for 8th.
So well done to Jack, and other than the unavoidable flat, both Felt Bikes ran without fault for the night, a great result as always. We look foward to the start of the new 10 race season next week!
