Melbourne, the Otherside with The Ginger and I
So While Ash and Jason were off playing in the hills and riding around in circles east of Melbourne, I was out riding on the other side.
Saturdays weather was fantastic and the riding was pretty good too. Rohin and I headed out to the hills around Mt Pleasant and St Andrews for some pre Mont training.
If you go back a few months you will find a similar picture, but with much more rain and clouds and stuff.
Who wants a medium/rare ginger? All the blue sky and sunshine made for a toastie but enjoyable ride in the hills.
Sunday morning we were off to the wild west for a MTB ride with Ben Randall and who ever else was brave enough. As it turns out there were only four to make the trip, Ben, myself, Rohin and James Dickey. JD seemed to be suffering from a strange illness that left him unable to remember times correctly and forgetting to dress appropriately for a MTB ride in such unforgiving terrain, possibly caused by excessive amounts of pink.
The ride was in the Lerderderg State Park not far from Bacchus Marsh and was full of some fantastic single track covered in lots and lots of rocks. It was defiantly not hardtail country but was perfect for the Virtue One I was riding. The descents were sometimes fast and flowing, other times steep and technical, but almost always littered with rocks and covered in a loose shail/gravel layer than made each corner tricky but lots of fun at the same time.
One of the highlights of the day/strangest riding experience was riding across this...
It was a bridge over a dry creek bed made of steal mesh. It would move and sway as you rode over it and you could see straight down through it which was a very odd feeling.
Ben exploring a cave in the side of the cliff.
Considering the area we were riding in we were lucky to get out with only a little bit of blood and no mechanicals
Cinnamon doughnuts and a few laughs after the ride make the sore legs go away.

you forgot to mention being smashed on every climb...
Not only were you smashed on every climb, you were also smashed by a Ginger and a vegetarian one at that!
Thanks for the photo shop work though.
It's my story and I'll omit things if I want to ;)
