National Series Rd 1 @ RADelaide

It has been deathly quiet on the Felt Racing Blog. Felt HQ has had the world economic crisis beating it around the ears a little which has meant focus has turned to serious work. Still, Scott or even Pauly could have picked up the slack, just a little bit. Anyway, I digress.
After a shocking weekend on the bikes in Canberra the team has slightly adjusted its collective sight and moved on to redemption at the National Round this weekend in RADelaide. New team member and all round 'top bloke' Neil van der Ploeg will be suiting up in U/23 alongside Scotty Liston. Neil won the Mitta to Mt Beauty last weekend on a Felt Q920 custom built bike in good time and has recovered well from his accident in Canberra. Scotty has done the hard kilometres and looks ready for a very strong series. Pauly on the other hand, has a case of the sniffles and won't be competing, poor Pauly. Mr Flemming will also be busting out some typically dazzling laps old school style and making the hurt look 'hurtier' for the rest of the field.
We want to see more of this....
and less of this...

On the Sunday the Short Track XC race should be a treat to watch, should be even funnier/interesting when Jack makes his National Series debut sometime this season... ooops did I just let the cat out of the bag? After the STXC we can then move our attention to the downhill to see if Sam Hills new bike is worth all the fuss. Should be great weekend of racing.

The Gravity 12hr will be the next time to see the Felt boys terrorizing the single track. The course is a personal favourite and is just a brilliant track for riders of all levels. The fast guys can go stupidly fast and the beginners can get maximum enjoyment out of a layout that is only used once a year. Make sure you sign up, grab some Millawa cheese on the way up and setup camp on the Friday and wake Saturday for 12hrs of fun.... and maybe a little pain. You would be amazed how comfy a tent and sleeping bag can be after a 12hr.
