National XC & XCC series... DONE!
Last weekend was the last stand for the Australian National MTB series for 2008/09.
A turbulent series for the FELT crew but a relatively successful one. Tarnished with some bad luck, and some bad timed form, the FELT team showed resilience at the toughest of times. And as we look back on what was Summer 08/09 we can smile in some satisfaction clutching our awards believing that we left it all out on the track, in TRUE Felt team style!
It's obvious that most riders look forward to going back to Tasmania. It's just a great place to ride your bike, so it seemed suitable that ROUND 5, the final should be held here, to give the riders that extra motivation to cap the season off.
Neil and Myself were representing the company down south and with much accomplished.
I had a solid race for the main event on Saturday, 7 laps of the GLENORCHY course rolling home in 2:12 hours securing 4th for the race in U23's and thus 3rd Place overall for the 2008/09 National MTB series in U23's.
It wasn't till the following day when Neil's legs had warmed up and after fighting his way up the field in the technical short Course event, Neil went on to secure the no. 1 plate lined in Green and Gold crowning himself 2008/09 Australian MTB short Course series Champion in Elite Men.
With the Nationals... DONE! Neil and myself look forward to a defining race in a few weeks time at the Oceania Championships, held in Thredbo.
