Victorian MTB Champs.
Yesterday was the Victorian MTB Championships held at the top of Mt Buller.
Long story short, it was wet, muddy, freezing cold and poorly organised by the Mt Buller crew. But I can't say I was disappointed with my result, that's for sure.
The course included a fair amount of Fire track, a small section of single track that was super sick! and enough hills to make you wanna cough a lung. So basically it was a small loop, probably the smallest loop for a XC race (bar criteriums) that I have ever raced.
I think my 1st lap took around 12 minutes, so that meant the Elite field were up for 9 laps... We didn't know where we were by the hour mark into the race. Was that lap 4 or 5 or 6...?
In the end we were racing for bang on 2 hours plus some, so at least we got a good hit out in.
In the end I secured the 2nd step on the podium, earning some cash for my efforts and double points for the Vic series standings.
Next weekend is the Oceania MTB Championships and FELT will have a strong presence rockin' U23's so stay tuned for some reports.
