Dead heat to Felt Racing

Once again at the Dirt Crits, Felt Racing duked it out for 1st and 2nd in a closely raced affair. Thankfully the rain held off for the duration of the event, and there was a reasonable turnout of 37 riders, notably including 1 James Maebus, fresh from his return from Europe and racing world cups against crazy Swiss huckers.

Jimmy regaled us with a story before the start, of racing a muddy singletrack descent, only to come to a steep section. Using a little discretion, he slowed to safely negotiate the section, only to find himself swamped by Swiss with their bikes on their shoulders hucking themselves off the cliff like lemmings. How can you race bikes against that mindset- thats tough, real tough!! Hopefully Jimmy now heeds everyone's advice and takes some time off the bike to avoid getting sick, like some of us have done in the past!

Back to the racing however, Jimmy gave Jack and Ash an easy break by slowing to take his jacket off, and the Felt boys cheekily capitalised and took off to make it a race of 2. On the final run into the line, the traffic parted wonderfully and we wound it up all the way to the line. Upon arriving at the line, we both had a full head of speed, and with nowhere to go, Jack went through the bunting and I slid into the finish tent, so thankfully it was called a dead heat and we were both happy with that. So thats Felt Racing 1st and 2nd for another week!

Thanks for stopping by, we'll see you out there!!
