Jubber Land course Preview
Firstly, congratulations to Paul Van Der Ploeg for a great effort into 3rd place today at Officer, his preparation for the worlds is coming along great. I'll post some pics when I recieve them.
But today, with the permission of the club, and the landowner, I was fortunate to be giving a guided tour of the revered Jubber Land- the Rocky Riders 6 hour course on private property at Castlemaine for a look at the course. And I found that its a great set up that's going to be good fun. And it was dusty! So no secrets, I'm showing you what I saw, as the more people we get to come, the better the event will be!
There are many places where you'll be able to have your whole setup trackside, and still be able to see the goings' on in transition.
The first part of the course is rolling, fairly open and a nice introduction to the lap.
The middle section is typical Castlemaine- a little rocky, quite dusty, and a beautiful clean line winding its way through the bush.
And a great descent back into the transition past a dam, where it opens up for all the camping/food/toilets/race control etc facilites and transition itself.
**The Club would also like to advertise the fact that there is limited water at the site, so please bring your own!!!**
Pray for sun!!

It is a great little entrance arrangment with plenty of parking available all over the place, and some great places to camp and be right by the track.

Right Oh ash but how about a review, give us your throughts. Whats the distance. Are you thinking its a dually course or hard tail course or a bit of both? Are we going to get to the end of a lap and say, damn that was bloody good fun, lets go again.
Paul was flying, am I old enough to start using age as an excuse to get beaten by those juniors?
Catch you track side, save us some tent space.
Distance is 6.8km
I feel that its typically Castlemaine in its description, meaning its rocky and hard, and any loose dirt turns to dust as its so dry. Its rocky and a little hilly, but no 10 min climbs, all short and punchy. The course is a groomed line through the bush mostly, with technical sections utilising the rocky terrain.
I got to the end of a lap, and though that it was fun, but not to go bang out another 15 on a hard tail, type of fun. Full sus will be a benefit undoubtably, and honestly.
Yes, you are old, no its not an excuse..! ;)
