So with some small amount of trepidation, the boys of Felt Racing are gearing up for the Otways Odyssey, this weekend at Apollo Bay. There has been much talk of this event, and the general consensus is that it is going to be a true epic ride, so bring it on. Rumor has it that even unnamed industry bigwigs have been installing granny rings on their bikes in preparation for this, getting rid of the 2x9 setups, so it must be serious. Not in living memory have I seen anything other than 2x9 on some people bikes, but not any more! So it promises to be epic. There is talk of a recovery surf on the Sunday morning, so its a wicked change to be by the beach! Regardless, the riding promises to be enormous, talk of people strapping multiple bottles to bikes, rules being introduced to stop the use of domestiques, its all happening! 100km, with the top riders in Australia, its going to be huge!! Looks like the perfect place for a 5" travel xc race bike as well, plenty of climbing, and rough as guts so bring it on we all say! Look out for a full report on Monday or Tuesday.
