Getting back on track
My apologies for a resonably lacking weblog of the last new weeks/months, but we hope to be able to turn it around from now on and give you something to read every couple of days. A fair bit has started to happen recently @ Felt Racing, and with this great weather that has started to hit us, we hope that it will continue.
Firstly, hot of the mobile, comes the news that Paulie has rocked into an awesome 4th place at the final French cup round, @ altitude and just 2 weeks out from the Worlds.
(From Paul, edited, as it was typed on a phone)
"It was a good race. I came 4th about 2.20min behind the French national champ
who came 3rd at the European Champs and won today. I started slower than other races from a good start position(2nd row) and dropped 15th after super quick start. The race went for 1h47min for me so pretty long. We did 1200m vertical in the race so with that and the 2000m above sea level, I'm pretty tired to say the least. Hope this email makes sense. (Nathan) Haas came 15th, 7min behind me and he was pretty happy. There was over 100 starters in the race so its a lot better ride this weekend compared to last. I'm a lot less tired than I was for the last race. Before the race I felt crappy but it just shows that you can never tell in the warm up. So it was a good race in the end.
Less then 2weeks to Worlds, lets hope there is still a bit more left in the tank. This course was good because the climb was broken up a bit. I was killing the Euros on the rough techo descents which was really fun. I worked back the riders who went out too hard, they blew like a bomb which was good to see. It was very hot racing, I was sweating a lot but I drank enough throughout the race and my **** is clear now from rehydrating so much. (?!?) Damo has got Haas and I onto this (available to anyone in the supermarket, nothing suss) mix which Cadel used when he was racing mtb.
I have to write a post race report and get a massage so I better go."
-Paul.
So that was how the race panned out for Paul, pretty awesome we think! On other racing news, NightLightning has decided that they will be increasing their commitment to Felt Racing for the upcoming Enduro 'season', and we look forward to using the latest LED technology that they offer. Jack and Jason will be receiving the latest generation Blaaast lights in the very near future, and will of course be happy to guide people over their features! So we thank Nightlightning, and look forward to sharing some great results with them in the very near future!
With the finer weather starting to emerge, everyone is getting out on the bikes to get rid of the winter whites, and the boys got together for Hell ride on Saturday. The pace was reasonably quick, which is nice to see once again, and with a few @#%heads giving the bunch a bad name, it wasn't without its excitement. But all's safe and sound, and we all came together for the kick back to black rock, and with the fireworks over and me very definitely in the box, it was a grim ride back to Carlton for some caffeine, then heading back out into the burbs.
Shivering our way whilst the clock heads toward 7am
Rolling back up the beach, taking some time to take some happy snaps.
I would edit my head out if I could, but I like how Jack and Jase are trying to get their heads in down the back there!
Jason rocking the new F1c, that thing looks gooooood!
And the reward at the end. Coffee really does make the cycling community go round...
