Blinding darkness
As the PR machine rachets up worldwide, I'm going to keep banging on about the Equilink Virtue 1 because I'm excited about what's coming. And the reviews that I've read are sounding better and better for our application!! Here is an example from the Netherlands, and another from a UK publication for you to have a read of, and they have some good pictures as well.
And to the racing- Last night, Full Gas Dirt crits were in blazing form. The course was as fast as I've ever seen it (by Vicious Light), A grade had a record 14 takers, and the weather was just about perfect! From the start line, the group charged away after waiting for a regular rider to arrive (the perks of grass roots racing) and headed out into the darkness. The first tricky corner saw a bobble from me, and the reaction down the group saw Jack lay it over. Being a narrow section of trail, he remounted without losing any places, but discovered his chain was off. 45 sec of putting that back together saw him well out the hoop of A grade, and a job ahead of him. Putting his head down, the chase was on.
Meanwhile up the front, I capitalized on the slipup behind me and put in a small gap. Seeing that it was effective, I got on the job for real, and pushed the gap to make it stick. Coming around a section of the course, I saw lights from riders, and discovered that the other A graders had missed a corner and had cut a section of course. Deciding to deal with it later, I wondered aloud what had happened (quite loudly perhaps?) and booted it! Making sure the lights were only receeding behind me, it was a mere formality to get some traffic in between the chasers to make their task harder, and hang on for a fairly easy win.
Jack rode like the proverbial 10 men to get back into contention, falling short by only 1 rider to roll in for valiant 3rd place, mere seconds behind Troy Bailey (BSC).
All in all, a good race, and the best result that I could really hope for in the series point chase! So we shall see, next week, its all or nothing in the last race of the series, and its going to ON! For the full results, click here
Castlemaine this weekend- Check back sunday night or monday morning to find out how Felt Racing fares against the mildly frail and possibly effeminant Specialized boys! And if you are present at Jubber Land, be sure to drop over for a chat.
Till then,
