Rohin Adams Invitational

Tuesday, Cup day was the inaugural Rohin Adams Invitational at the Wombat trailhead. Sadly, Felt Racing was only one member strong, as it was revealed that one of them pleaded 'tired and emotional' today, making him the whipping post for the day, rather than the rides' namesake Rohin Adams who was fortunate enough to finally make it to his own ride after being woken up by a phone call whilst we all waited at the meeting spot... So about an hour late, one sheepish Adams finally meets us on the trails, his smell arriving before his presence, the scent described charmingly as 'like the floor of the Tote'. At the very least he was there, and the subject of much mirth, not like one housemate who was still in bed when Rohin arrived back home after riding. So much for being the alarm man...

But to the awesome riding. I've never been to the Wombat trails, and would very much like to return, let me just say! To be able to ride a 19km loop of singletrack the way that you would like it to be, is awesome! Logs, like real size logs, not the silly little sticks we get these days were everywhere. How about log rides, rolling down the length of them? Yep! The trail was just so much fun, most of the corners are bermed, there are jumps everywhere, rollers to manual, and the final descent towards the end of the lap is just killer.

So it was an awesome couple of loops that we did. A great crew came together for the ride, as you can see in the photos, and we look forward to whomever's invitational it is next!

Sadly with only one Felt Racing member, the photos are going to be of everyone else. Shame that...

After getting 15 mins into the ride, I discovered that 2 chainring bolts were missing. I wondered why it wouldn't pedal real well... At the same time, Joel found that he had, yet again, popped a spoke from his crossmax wheels. So it was 'break out the tools' time, and everyone scratched their heads as to what we could pinch to get me going again. Granny ring bolts and derailleur hanger backing plates came together for the day, thankfully!

Factory Randall rocking the ebay kit. Aboard his shiny new rig, looking quite nice.

And of course, Aussie Bellie, rocking the national Jersey at any opportunity, and I would totally do the same. Its not like he earnt it over a 30min STXC race, 24hours buys you as much jersey time as you can have, in fact you could still be cool with a tattoo of it!

A healthy gaggle of riders made it out for the morning.

Kenny aboard the only other Felt, nice to see!

Self portraits, you know why.

And the elusive Ginger, taking Movember to new found highs/lows...
