Give Him 2 Wheels and He'll Ride It

Mr Paul VDP made a trip down from the hills to the big smoke this week to do some riding, racing, prodding and general silliness.

A credible 21st in the U23 Aussie Road Racing championships on Saturday in Ballarat was a good start, backed up by a not so lucky XC race in Sundays State series with a sneaky chain that tried hiding in his cassette.

Today he was off to the VIS to play lab animal, something I think he would excel at! And then it was time to head down to the Deluxe Dirt Crits held next to the Yarra River. Paul made the choice not to race as his race bike was missing some air from its rear tire (maybe some water might help), but he made the trip down anyway to watch.

I took the Virtue Team down for the race. The dry conditions produced some very exciting slides (for me anyway as I was lucky to keep it upright) and I was able to take the win. Second race on the new seasons bike (first was last weeks crit) and the second win, so hopefully some of this winning streak will continue throughout the rest of the season for all of the team. For may efforts I was rewarded with a lovely train drivers hat and a perpetual trophy which closely resembled a steak shaped squeaky dog toy stuck to a lump of wood, or something like that, straight to the pool room until it's returned.

No this isn't a pre-production 09 Felt
