Chase the Sun 2
Another Chase the Sun race is upon us with Felt Racing 1 (Jack & Scott) looking to go one better and beat the strong Giant team featuring Murray Spink and John Claxton. Felt Racing 2 has being tweaked with the return to action of Mark McDougall. He will join the 'Sram Man', Rob Eva, in what promises to be a very strong team with some serious handling ability. It will also mark the return of Felt City after a mysterious non appearance at the recent 6hr at Beaconsfield. You may also be lucky enough to see the lairiest bikes on the planet as you lap the unfit and unmotivated riders. The weather forecast for the weekend looks good and will give the trails a chance a dry a little more for the big day.
On Saturday I took the opportunity to check out the condition of the trails and I have to say that most were in reasonable shape with a few scattered puddles in the most common areas for Lysterfield. For those of you who aren't aware, there are section's of trails that could have water on them in the height of summer. They are mostly around the lower end of the trails around the other side of the lake from the M2006 course. It promises to be a good event, fit for MTB'ers of all levels, so get on down to Lysterfield and get involved.
Australian World Cup
The website for the upcoming World Cup in Canberra is up and about. The schedule for the weekend looks jam packed with races and events and should be worth a viewing if you can get to Canberra. Felt should have a strong contingent of riders competing and showing the rest of the world how it is done. Rocking the World Cup Felt style.
Paul is still OS preparing for the World Championships in Italy. If you think you are training hard you should read his blog and discover the torture he is being put through. Ouch!
Bendigo 12HR
The Bendigo 12hr was run and won on the weekend. As per usual there was a group of very strong Felt riders shining through as well as a mix of other riders who are average at best (You know who you are muznicetc) From all reports it was a pretty cool course and lots of fun for the competitors. Felt rider Jaci Lo took out the solo women's category, Josh Flemming teamed up with Trev Watchman and Matt Wallace to take out the men's Pro Triples and Jo Wall had the 'honour' of teaming with Felt part timers Nic Eagle and Murray Fenwick to come last in the Mixed Fours category. Clearly she was let down by the 2 boys and as a result never wants to ride with them again.....
