Felt takes out 4th and 7th in CTS 2
In a bizarre day of racing, which started in heavy fog and finished in brilliant sunshine, Felt Racing 1 finished 4th narrowly missing a podium with Felt Racing 2 staying consistent in 7th. For Felt Racing 1, a strong start by Jack was wasted when on the 2nd lap of the day Scott lost his rear wheel while he was working with James Maebus on the fast single track. Scott was rather sheepish when he came through transition with teammates curious that Scott actually works casually at a bike shop. The lost time proved to be the nail in the coffin for any aspirations of a podium and resulted in Jack and Scott protecting their series points. For Felt Racing 2 the day never really clicked. The pair of Mark and Rob Eva were never in the hunt for a high finish and ended up maintaining a strong consistent pace ensuring a top 10 finish.
The day was highlighted by an eerie start to the race with riders pushing through the soup like fog for the opening couple of hours. Riding through the fog left riders dripping wet and glasses fogged over making life difficult for the less hardened riders amongst us. It didn't seem to deter the pairing of Luke Fetch and James Maebus as they smashed the course to take the biscuits very comfortably with Giant and Yeti filling the remaining podium spots.
It was great to see a massive turn out of competitors and spectators for the day. The crazy guy on the unicycle definitely deserves a pat on the back. That looked like dare or a bet gone wrong. Also, all competitors should take a bow regarding course etiquette. From my experience and from other accounts the slower riders moved aside safely and the faster riders weren't pushy or rude. Top stuff.
For the opposition, a word of warning. One Mr van der Ploeg is due to arrive back in Australia in late June and will be amped for the remaining 2 CTS events. It's now up to Mark, Scott and Jack to duke it out to see who pairs up with the big fella. As team manager I will ensure it's a bitter and nasty competition and I will also ensure that I report it here. Just think of me as a "bad parent", making my kids battle it out for my respect or in this case a chance to ride with Pauly.
New Clothing Line:
A sneak peak at Felt's new line of clothing made by Hincapie. As you can see the Felt logo is very strong visually and there isnt a whole heap of red...... A big change. I wonder if the new 2009 line of bikes will be so heavily branded?

That design would look just as good in red. Do all Felt teams worldwide have the same kit?
