Anaconda Race 3

Was I a prophet or what? Mud tyres. They proved a handy addition yesterday at the Anaconda Series Race 3. That is of course, only if you own mud tyres. For the unfortunate others who don't or didn't bring them, they were consigned to a day of slipping and sliding at varying angles every pedal stroke. Drivetrains became unpredictable, clothing turned a lovely gloss brown and drinks became gritty in conditions that can best be described as, deplorable.
For the Felt guys it was a day of grinding it out and keeping the bikes going straight. Felt Racing 1 lead by Jack and Scott (click here for Scotts race report)started the day strongly and provided the Torq team lead by Lachlan Norris with sturdy resistance until late in the day when a couple of hot laps saw the Torq team break away for a comfortable win.
Felt Racing 2 had an interesting day which began with Paul getting up close and personal with the ground and in the process destroying his Noir cranks, leaving him with only small ring for half a lap. Thankfully Josh Flemming is one competitive man and stomped around the course to bring the gap to the leaders down significantly. A quick change of strategy and tyres for Paul allowed Felt Racing 2 to finish a strong 3rd after a difficult beginning.
The Felt Chicks (Jaci Lo and Jo Wall) had a rather smooth day by comparison and were extremely solid all day holding down 3rd position. Some of Jo's skills were a delight to watch as she jumped the numerous log rollovers with ease and then matched it with the boys in the all important banter stakes at Felt Race HQ.
Former team member dropped by to take some happy snaps, have a laugh and revel in the fact that he was spectating rather than competing. Check out the Epix site for his pics.
The highlight of the day had to have been the most average mono in history performed by our very own Jack Lamshed. Jack kept the front wheel up for at least nano second before veering off the trail and hiding behind a marquee to escape the laughing masses. Top stuff Jack. Don't let him tell you about the track stand competition, everyone knows the mono competition is the main event. Please, if anyone has video footage please email us here at the blog so we can share.........
