Winter Motivation

Yawn..... While things are going pretty slowly at Felt headquarters, life goes on for the team riders. Training, training and more training. That of course, is unless your initials are PvdP. Pauly is back home resting after a massive European race season. Read all about it here. The other guys are all putting in the hard yards on the road bikes and on the trails preparing for our return to competition on the 27th July at Lysterfield.
It is without doubt the hardest time of the year to drag the steed out the door to ride in the cold and wet. But, it is also when the men get separated from the boys as the riders who brave the cold gain invaluable KM's for the upcoming summer. Thankfully, in Victoria we have some wonderful MTB clubs who have seen fit to organise some races for the less organised but slightly motivated amongst us.
The Fat Tyre Flyers have their "FTF Winter XC Series #2" on July 13th at Officer. The Fatties always put on a great event that is well attended by all categories. For those interested in heading out to Officer click HERE.
The Dirt Riders also run a great Winter series out at 'Upper Beacy'. Round 2 of the Dirt Riders Winter Series is on the 20th July. For more details on the event click HERE.
Finally, if you're sitting there reading this blog entry and thinking, "I would love to race on one of these weekends but its just to damn far.." then maybe the Geelong Mountain Bike Club has the answer. Round 2 of the You Yangs Winter XC Series is on the 20th July. The last round was a 3 stage race which from all reports was a heap of fun, albeit slightly chili. For more information click HERE.
So there you go. All you riders out there have no excuse, get out and have a crack. Keep the legs strong over Winter so you can smash your friends in Summer.
If anybody else knows of some races coming up over Winter drop an email or leave a comment.
