Chase the sun for round 3 headed back to the Com Games event area, and I can safely say I much prefer the event centre at the other location, on the other side of the lake. Maybe its the fact that there is better parking, or maybe its because you dont have to walk so much, or maybe its the shelter you get from the wind... I dont know, its just better.

Round 3 was 6 hours on a very well set up course, utilising most of the Commonwealth Games track along with the usual plethora of Lysterfield tracks making it just a touch over half an hour a lap for the fast guys.

With the teams mixed up it was clear that "FELT tear some legs off" would be the ones with the most expectation, holding the top position on the series ladder Mr Bus and Myself had to do our very best to grab as many points as possible.

Neil and myself started both teams off, but it wasn't long after the starters lap when disaster struck my bike and I was sent way back. Swamped by the packed field I struggled to get going, and when I did there was sooo many people out there. Thankfully Neil, always aware took it upon himself and made the decision to sacrifice his teams position in the lead group to wait for me and then tow me back up the field into a position where we could at least see the leaders.

It wasn't long before "FELT tear some legs off" were into 3rd position, but by that time the two teams ahead of us had capitalised on their fortune and left us behind.

The race stayed steady to the end, and "FELT tear some legs off" finished on the final step of the podium.

It was great to see so many people out on the track. The big buzz around the pro pairs was how great it was to see so many young whippets giving Mountain biking a go, especially the young girls. Mountain biking is a small sport in Australia, and internationally we have along way to go before we are a top nation on the XC circuit, the youngsters are who we are relying on to keep the sport growing and get Australia up there. So its wicked for passionate Aussie Mountain bikers to see this.

This photo was taken at presentation, gives you an idea of how popular the even has become, keeping in mind most people had left before presentation started.
