Three pronged attack
And then it started to rain... The forecast was for rubbish weather all day, but in Melbourne style, it was blue sky all day. Even riding to the race, it was still reasonable aside from the gale barrelling down the back straight.
Lining up tonight was Jack, Jason and Ash, all of whom are keen as the proverbial to get this upcoming 12 hour going. With bikes primed, Ash and Jack aboard single speeds and Jason astride the RXC team, the gun went off (actually, someone said go) and we were racing.
I pushed out an early lead before the rain started, and then was caught by the flying Jimmy Maebus (Giant) who then proceeded to return the favour I dealt out a few weeks ago by clearing out up the road. Left alone to ponder, I was able to keep Jack at arms reach in 3rd place as he struggled to turn too high a gear on the singlespeed, and Jason fell victim to some geographic embarrassement before clawing back a few positions later in the race.
So thats Felt Racing 2nd, and 3rd, and Jase off in the shrubs but flying none the less, and now we are all at home cleaning again. I love Spring! Roll on the 12 hour, next weekend!
