Tour de Timor

Race Day Eve

The rest of the team has finally arrived, Neil and Pete are both here and by the time I’m up its time for us all to go for a ride. After being out the previous day with Ash for Four hours I was pretty comfortable in where we could go for a decent ride. We tackled some climbs and got about 2 hours of riding in before the heat of the day struck its worse. We stretched our legs out and opened up the lungs on the reverse of the first KOM for stage one, just outside Dili, we all felt good! This was a good sign, and we all started to get real excited about the tour to come.

Team Mad Dogs out for a roll.

Needed some water, 2 litres of bottled water: 50c

That night all the riders were invited to have dinner with the President and Noble Peace Prize winner, Jose Antonia Ramos Horta. This guy is a Legend, an absolute inspiration and we were honored to be in his presence, we also got to see the premier of Balibo, a movie about Timor Leste in its time of unrest and the relationship it had with Australia. A very powerful movie, something I suggest seeing.

After the festivities, it was time to focus on the task at hand, time to race was oh so close.
