More news filtering out
As the dust slowly settles from the news last week that Felt Racing will be seeing some changes this coming season, it is with satisfaction I can announce the new team makeup that will contest the 08 Enduro calendar representing Felt Bicycles, Nightlightning illumination, Hutchinson Tires and Sport Recovery Endura products.
Stepping up to the plate to take on the role of Team Managment, in association with Southcott, see's Jarrod Acfield as the new go-to man. He's already been a quieter part of the Felt production for some time now, as well as being a racer in his own right, but he'll be heading up the new Felt Racing onslaught for 2008. Sadly at the moment he is crippled with a broken wing, but that means more time on the computer dredging up tidbits for us to read!
Jack Lamshed will be backing up for his (correct me here if you're playing at home) 3rd season on the Felt junket, and we welcome him back for some more stellar performances, and amusing road trips along the way. Jack has become one of the mainstays of the team, and is well known amongst the camps for his aggressive riding style, and that green helmet - can it last another year??
Mark McDougall impressed all and sundry with a super solid ride at the Mont 24hour, and will also be picking up a full time ride this coming year. As mentioned in an earlier post, nearly a lifetime ago, Mark was a sensational downhiller and XC racer and has lost none of those skills or drive, and we welcome him to Felt Racing and bet he can't do a full lap of the Kona course on one wheel...!
Paul will also be continuing on, and requires no introduction. If you need to know about the guy, read back or ask anyone.. His reputation proceeds him. See...?
And finally, Brendan Sharrat has confirmed that he will also be holding down a position on Felt Racing this year. Brendan gave us quite a scare at the Beechworth 6 hour this year, beating the seemingly unstoppable Paul up the first long climb, and giving us a bit of a stiff neck looking over our shoulders for a few laps. So Brendan should be a great asset to the team, and with a decent road season under his belt, look out for him!
Thats enough words for me today, but I'll leave you with a thought.
Kona 24 - Forrest - December 2 (ish)
Personally I'm super excited about this race. Genuinely. I was telling someone yesterday that in one race, we get a fresh course 3 different times. How cool is that, and from what I hear from people I respect, the course is off its head. So much fun, and absolutely nothing like the Otways section that went through. I heard that late entries started last week, but thats cool, they'll still take them I'm sure. These events are made by slick organisation and good ideas, but they aren't an event if nobody turns up. I knows its late in the year, but for crying out loud people, this is the race that we all want. Awesome course, beautiful area, fresh ideas, and a huge crew of like minded riders. Get off your ass people, enter a team, any team or check the forum - Does this sound like an advertorial? Its not actually, but even so, its all those things I still said, so get in there and support the only 24 hour that we have in Victoria.
DO IT!!
